Ahidous

Location: Ain Leuh A Brief Outline of the Festival: Ahidous is an Amazigh musical and performing art associated with the rural areas of the Middle Atlas Mountains. It encompasses a variety of expressive forms, including poetry and dance, and is performed collectively by men and women. The bendir, a large frame drum, serves as the primary instrument, accompanied by rhythmic clapping and successive singing by men and women. This festival seeks to connect Ahidous with its audience and ensure its transmission through generations. It also supports and encourages ontological, literary, and artistic research to analyse its meanings and examine its cultural and historical dimensions. Furthermore, the festival celebrates the pioneers of this art form and inspires younger generations to revitalise this heritage.
